Stratus 3 is the simple-to-use, portable wireless receiver that provides subscription-free weather, GPS information, backup attitude, and ADS-B traffic – integrated with your favorite flight app. Stratus 3 is also designed with an Open ADS-B Mode to work with a variety of popular apps – both iOS and Android based.

Not only does Stratus 3 deliver subscription-free weather, dual-band ADS-B traffic and WAAS GPS information to your flight app, the built-in AHRS technology also drives a very responsive pitch and bank instrument within the apps that support it. Essentially a “backup glass cockpit” on your iPad, this provides an excellent backup for emergency situations.

All generations of Stratus receivers work seamlessly with Stratus Insight, our electronic flight bag (EFB).

Stratus 3 was designed using the GDL-90 protocol, meaning it will work with a variety of EFBs. It can be switched to “Open ADS-B Mode” within the Stratus Settings (found in our free app Stratus Horizon Pro).

Subscription-Free In-Flight Weather

View in-flight weather on your iPad, including NEXRAD radar, METARs, TAFs, TFRs, AIRMETs, SIGMETs, NOTAMs and more. And still no subscription fees—ever.

Built-in AHRS

Stratus 3 includes a complete Attitude Heading Reference System (AHRS) for supplemental attitude information in the cockpit. It aligns itself automatically, so you can just turn it on and fly. Pilots who use synthetic vision will experience a visually stunning and high-performance hazard awareness capability.

Dual-band ADS-B Traffic

Stratus 3 includes a dual-band (978 MHz and 1090 MHz) ADS-B receiver and displays traffic information right in your flight app. See your aircraft’s relative altitude, climb/descent rate, and projected track.

How Stratus 3 is different that 2S:

Open ADS-B Mode
Stratus 3 can be configured to work with other popular flight apps using the industry-standard GDL 90 protocol by enabling Open ADS-B Mode.

Smart WiFi
Allows you to use 3G/4G LTE internet on your iPad while connected to Stratus 3.

Auto shut-off
To preserve battery, Stratus 3 automatically powers down after your flight by detecting when it’s idle or at less than a 3D GPS lock.

The kit includes a gel dash mount, charging cable, 110V wall plug, and a pilot’s guide. Stratus 3 has a 2-year warranty.
