As they are being used, iPads generate heat that can affect performance — resulting in a high-temperature shut down when you might need it most! Pilots have found this out the hard way when using a temporary mounting solution like Velcro to attach their unit to the instrument panel. The smartPanel Mount was designed with cooling in mind. Each mount has a built-in Fan Blower (14 or 28V) capable of supplying 4.6 cubic feet per minute of air and because it is powered by the aircraft you will not run out of battery. Each panel mounting tray features cooling channels to circulate Fan Blower air behind your iPad to keep it cool even under the heaviest of use.
This housing is used to support the Fan Blower (!2 or 24V) fans in place and fits over the 5/8 opening for the iPhone(6+, 7, 7+, 8, 8+), Â iPad Mini (2,3 and 4), Iapd 9.7 family including Air and the iPad Pro 12.9.

To connect your smartPanel Mount to your audio panel to allow music / multimedia to be played through your intercom system or to allow your iPad or iPhone to be used as a recording device, you will need to add a 3.5mm audio cable to your panel mount. These cables have been designed to perfectly fit the built-in smartPanel Mount audio port position.
This audio cable is a straight open-wiring audio cable with an inline components to prevent feedback when wired to the audio panel.
