The FL256 instrument is TSO'd and STC'd as a primary replacement instrument under all flight conditions (day/night VFR and IFR). It is a requirement of the STC that this be the only fuel level indicator, when installed. The FL256 instrument utilizes the existing fuel senders.

It has a super tough, nickel-plated aluminum base plate with integral Nitrile ‘O’ ring that can be used in pressurized applications. The CI-268-60 shares the same footprint and offset connector location as the popular CI-238.
