The ZPX-A is an ITAR-free, AIMS-certified micro transponder specifically designed to enable defense UAVs to operate seamlessly in civil airspace. Derived from the proven ping200X, the ZPX-A transponder integrates Modes 3/A, C, S, and Extended Squitter (ES) ADS-B OUT, facilitating compliant airspace interoperability with minimal size, weight, and power (SWaP) footprint.

ZPX-A is an ITAR-free AIMS certified micro-transponder for defense UAVs with a need to participate in civil airspace. Adapted for defense use from our TSO-certified ping200X, ZPX-A incorporates transponder modes 3/A, C, S, and Extended Squitter (ES) ADS-B OUT.
Built for UAVs, Enabling New Missions
ZPX-A enables UAVs as small as Group 1 and Group 2 to interoperate with National Airspace Systems (NAS) infrastructure and be recognized by other aircraft with Traffic Collision Avoidance Systems (TCAS) or ADS-B IN receivers. The DoD AIMS Certified ZPX-A weighs only 50-grams and draws just 1.5 watts from the aircraft’s power supply, minimizing any impact to flight time and payloads.
End to End Integrity and Control
Pair ZPX-A with the uAvionix truFYX-EXT SBAS GPS to meet the requirements of global controlled airspace delivering safe separation information to Air Traffic Control (ATC). The externally-mounted Source Integrity Level (SIL) 3 GPS guarantees visibility to certified avionics in other aircraft as well as by ATC. The ZPX-A can be integrated with an autopilot for dynamic control from your ground control station (GCS). ZPX-A can also be carried as a payload with the uAvionix mini-controller for easy set and forget functionality.
