BB-TH-U Thermal Battery Box “U” Case
Thermal battery box to protect from radiated or convection heat. This battery box is designed to be compatible with our existing “U” case battery models; ETX1600, ETX900-24, ETX680-24-VNT.
The EarthX thermal battery box is designed to protect the battery in engine compartment installations from periods of high temperature (up to 1 hour), such as after shutdown, and from radiant heat from hot surfaces like exhaust systems during and after flight. This stainless-steel box has a mirror finish to minimize the effect of radiant heat, and it has a high-performance insulating foam layer between the box and battery to reduce effect of convection heat. Weight is .68Kg or 1 Lb. 8oz.
All batteries have optimal temperature ranges for use in operation. The ETX-Hundred series is rated for 140 deg F (60 deg C) or less for optimal longevity and performance of the battery. Typical lead acid batteries are rated to 113 deg F or 45 deg C.
Vent Port Kit
This kit includes includes machined aluminum vent port, washer and nut to make the installation of a vented EarthX battery easy and professional looking. This vent port is designed for our ETX900-VNT battery. This custom machined port is designed to accept the ETX900’s ¼” O.D. vent tubes. The port is an anodized aircraft aluminum. The two vent tubes easily connect to the port with a “push-to-connect” connection like most small diameter tube fittings on the market today.
This port can be incorporated into most new or existing aircraft builds, making a clean, low profile finish.
Hole size required in aircraft skin for port is 1 1/8”.

This is a custom designed aluminum battery box designed specifically for the EarthX lithium battery ETX680C or any of the “C” cased batteries (ETX24C, ETX36C). This battery box was engineered to be strong enough to withstand 30 G of force yet only weighs .15Kg or 5.3oz and will fit your battery like a glove. This unique design allows for simple, easy installation with the dimensions: 5.9″ L x 3.4″ W x 4.5″H.
