Easily see if you have a battery fault with this 5mm 24V Amber LED light for your EarthX experimental aircraft or race car batteries. The 24V LED has a built in resistor for easy installation and compatibility with a 26.2-29.2V electrical system. Details installation directions are located in the EarthX manual but it is very simple. To install, connect red wire to a positive bus connection, connect the black wire to fault monitoring wire (also black) that is located on the EarthX battery.
The positive wire (red wire) of the LED should be connected to the electrical bus (24volt positive), typically to a fuse/breaker downstream of the master switch. The negative of the LED (black wire) should be connected to the fault monitor wire (wire out the side of the battery) of the battery.
Step 1: install the 24V LED light thru a hole in your control panel.
Step 2: cut the black wire to length desired for your installation so the LED’s black wire reaches the battery.
Step 3: use a wire stripper to remove ¼” of the wire insulation so you can attach the “male” spade connector to the black wire. Crimp the male spade connector to black wire.
Step 4: plug the male spade connector into the end of the pigtail wire from the battery.
Step 5: connect the red wire to an electrical bus fuse/breaker (.25-1 AMP). May have to untwist wire and cut to length. Most of the time it is most convenient to connect to a fuse on the back side of the panel. If not, it could also be connected directly to the positive terminal of the battery with a ¼” ring lug connector.

Designed to protect the battery in engine compartment installations from periods of high temperature (up to 1 hour), such as after shutdown, and from radiant heat from hot surfaces like exhaust systems during and after flight. This stainless-steel box has a mirror finish to minimize the effect of radiant heat, and it has a high-performance insulating foam layer between the box and battery to reduce effect of convection heat. The hold-down tab comes with a mounting fixture that can hold a cooling air duct up to 1” in diameter. This battery box was engineered to be strong enough to withstand 30 G of force yet only weighs .49Kg or 1 Lb. 1.2oz.
All batteries have optimal temperature ranges for use in operation. The ETX-Hundred series is rated for 140°F ( 60ºC) or less for optimal longevity and performance of the battery. Typical lead acid batteries are rated to 113ºF or 45ºC.

1/4″ Vent Tubing
Tubing for the EarthX ETX900-VNT or the ETX900-TSO vented batteries. Only EarthX approved or supplied tubing should be used. The tubing is chemical resistant and rated for 500°F. Be careful not to crush or restrict flow through the tubing. Enter the quantity you want in feet.
